The Layoff-Proof Movement: Why It’s Time to Put Yourself First

For decades, we’ve been told to:
Work hard.
Stay loyal.
Play by the rules.
And that if we do, we’ll be taken care of.
Life will be stable. Life will be good.

That story just isn’t true anymore.

Companies will always do what companies do.
They’ll do what’s best for the company.

It’s not personal—it’s business.
And their fiduciary responsibility is to shareholders, not to you.

That’s why you must always do what’s best for you.
Because no one else will.

This is the core idea of the Layoff-Proof Movement.
It’s a shift in how we think about work, life, and our own value. It’s about reclaiming control, building resilience, and never putting your future entirely in someone else’s hands again.

The Movement Starts Here

Layoff-Proof isn’t just a goal or a strategy—it’s a way of thinking (a mindset) and a way of acting (a habit). Here’s what it means to me:
